India targets pharmaceutical exports worth $31 billion in the financial year 2024-25, with the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States (US) being its top targets.

India exported pharmaceutical products worth $27.9 billion in FY24, up 9.6 per cent from the previous year.

Uday Bhaskar, director general of the Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council (Pharmexcil), said the group is targeting $1 billion in exports to the U.K., where demand for affordable generic drugs is growing. “We were in the U.K. for meetings last month. We are also planning a roadshow in Belgium, the Netherlands and the U.K. in or around November,” he said.
