Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday hit out at the BJP-led Center for trying to “terrorize” former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren and said the JMM leader preferred to go to jail rather than parting ways with the India Bloc.

He was addressing the opposition India Bloc’s ‘Ulgulan Nyaya’ rally at Prabhat Tara Maidan in Ranchi, which was attended by leaders of the anti-BJP alliance.

Kharge said, “Hemant Soren was sent to jail for refusing to separate from India Bloc. Hemant Soren is a brave man who chose to go to jail rather than bow down. If BJP continues to terrorize tribals, it will be wiped out.” Will be done.”

Soren was arrested by the ED on January 31 in a money laundering case related to an alleged land fraud, soon after his resignation as chief minister.

Kharge also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that he insulted the tribal community by not inviting President Draupadi Murmu to the Ram Temple consecration and the inauguration of the Parliament House.

The Congress leader alleged, “BJP considers tribals untouchable” and warned that it would be reduced to 150 to 180 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
