“Let us be honest as Republicans, I am the only person on stage who has not been bought or paid, so I can say this: The climate change agenda is a hoax. Climate change agenda is a hoax,” he said argued Wednesday night in Wisconsin.
But the biotech entrepreneur hasn’t always been so outspoken in his views on the climate crisis, and in March he appeared more open to the idea of climate change.
“Well, climate change is also real. We’re talking about the climateism part of it. When I talk about climateism and Covid-ism, I am not denying the underlying reality of Covid. I’m not denying the underlying reality that global surface temperatures are rising, partly due to human activity,” he told Major Garrett of CBS News.
And in February 2021 he testified to Congress during which he admitted That “fighting climate change” was not a “bad goal”.
During Wednesday night’s debate, all eight candidates were asked on stage whether they believed human behavior was causing climate change.
Moderator Martha McCallum was interrupted by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who said, “We are not school children. Let’s debate.”
