A recent study shows that political donations from the rank and file at the State Department are skewed in favor of Democrats, showing how politicized one of the most powerful and prestigious executive agencies has become.

They indicate that the results are “seriously troubling”.

“In summary, we found that more than 90 percent (and sometimes 100 percent) of employee contributions went solely to Democratic candidates and objectives,” they write.

They suggest that their findings point either to “systemic and institutional discrimination in employment” or to internal pressures to donate to a preferred party.

State Department donations aren’t the only problem

The Heritage Foundation reports that skewed political funding isn’t just a problem for the State Department.
