Conservative Hollywood icon James Woods criticized President Joe Biden over an emergency payment of $700 to people displaced by wildfires in Maui.

The payments were announced as the White House on Tuesday unveiled its “robust whole-of-government response effort” for victims of the disaster.

As part of the program, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will allow for “A one-time payment of $700 per household to applicants who were displaced from their homes and are in dire need.”

Woods doesn’t think the payments are enough, especially in light of what the United States has done for foreign countries under President Biden.

“$700 per family for Americans whose homes were destroyed during a preventable disaster,” he wrote on Twitter/x. “People were standing in the ocean watching their communities fall apart and their neighbors burn to death.”

“Seven. Hundred. Lousy. Dollars,” Woods said. “But $113 billion to Ukraine. Nice job, big man.”

$700 for the Maui victims

The official death toll from the Maui wildfires has arrived climbed to 106 And it is expected to increase further as only a third of the affected area has been explored so far.

It marks the deadliest wildfire in the United States in more than 100 years and represents Hawaii’s worst natural disaster.

Earlier this week, President Biden was heavily criticized for a comment, or rather “no comment,” as he was concluding an hour-long picnic on the beach.

The president declared a federal emergency and issued a statement last week offering condolences to the families of those killed, but then went silent, concluding with a “no comment” controversy.

On Tuesday, Biden was in full damage control mode as criticism mounted over his several days of silence on the disaster.

“My wife, Jill, and I are going to fly to Hawaii as soon as possible,” Biden said at a wind and electric power manufacturing plant in Milwaukee. “I am talking to the governor about this but I do not want to interfere.”

There’s no doubt he’ll visit, because Hawaii is a blue state. However, it should be noted that Biden said he would visit East Palestine, Ohio “at some point” after a toxic train crash that occurred in February.

“Some point” is yet to come.

billions for ukraine

Conservatives like James Woods have centered their harshest criticism around the fact that Americans are being shortchanged when it comes to disasters in East Palestine, border states and towns, and now Maui, while giving Ukraine taxpayer money. There’s an endless supply.

Last week, President Biden requested an aid package of about $40 billion $24 billion for Ukraine and $12 billion to replenish federal disaster funds not specifically related to Maui.

US has already approved four rounds of assistance Ukraine has received a total of about $113 billion since the Russian invasion.

Former President Donald Trump criticized Biden for his response to the crisis in a videotaped statement.

He added, “It is often fine to say no to comment, but to smile while you say so, especially after such a tragedy, is absolutely appalling and unacceptable.” “It is an outrage that Joe Biden refused to help or comment on the tragedy in Maui, just as he refused to help or comment on the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, for far too long Gave.”

Trump then offered his “love and sympathy” to those suffering in Maui.

Woods, meanwhile, has been a longtime critic of the current White House speaker.

He criticized Biden following pre-election comments in which the then-Democrat presidential candidate dismissed America as “an idea” that “we’ve never lived up to.”

“If you weren’t owned by China, you might as well love this country,” Woods retorted.

Most recently, Woods called out President Biden when he mistakenly said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is “losing the war in Iraq.”

“It’s sad and upsetting,” Woods said. written on x In a message that was later deleted. “Granted that dementia is a cruel disease, but the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine has the potential to cause worldwide nuclear annihilation.”

“America cannot afford a strategic blunder by its own president in such a vast region,” he said.

America cannot afford to risk another four years of this tumultuous presidency.
