In 2017, comedian Kathy Griffin made headlines for all the wrong reasons when she posed for a photoshoot holding a fake severed head of then-President Donald Trump. Earlier this month, she shared it on her Instagram page in a really disturbing way.

Griffin revives Trump photo

Griffin recently shared on Instagram a photoshopped image of prosecutor Jack Smith holding Trump’s severed head. The image was the original 2017 photo in which Griffin’s face was replaced with Smith’s, while Trump’s face was replaced with an image of the former president with a stunned expression.

“Finally,” Griffin captioned the image, appearing to celebrate Smith’s latest indictment of Trump.

Griffin complains about photo backlash

Griffin has long been complaining about the impact that the backlash to the original 2017 photo had on both her career and her mental health. In a 2021 interview, Griffin revealed that she struggled with drug addiction and suicidal thoughts because of it.

“I was told by people in my own industry, ‘It’s over. Leave the country for five years. You’ve shamed our industry,’ over and over again. It definitely got to me,” she told ABC News those days. “And so, I got to the point where I kind of agreed. Like, maybe it’s time for me to go, and I’ve had a great life, and I don’t think there’s a next chapter for me.”

Earlier this year, Griffin claimed she was battling a “severe case” of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

“Let’s talk about PTSD. Never talked about it publicly, Griffin said in a TikTok video. “You can laugh or whatever, but I have been diagnosed with complex PTSD. They call it an extreme case.

He said, “I’d love to hear from you guys about depression or anxiety…how you deal with it.” “If any of you know my story, you would understand that it really started for me about five and a half years ago. To flirt. You know, the cancer didn’t help.”

Griffin was referring to his battle with stage 1 lung cancer, which he was diagnosed with in 2021. However, he also quickly added that he believed his PTSD stemmed from the Trump photo backlash.

Griffin captioned the video, “I have a lot of equipment, but this is insanely intense.” “I have never experienced anything like this in my life. If you are someone who deals with this, I am sending you lots of #love.

It is reprehensible that she continues to try to play the victim when it comes to that photo, and she clearly has so little remorse that she would dare to post this new version featuring Smith.
