Mark Zuckerberg has issued a statement through a spokesman saying he is out of town in response to X boss Elon Musk vowing to go to his house tonight to fight.

The two tech giants have been discussing an MMA fight against each other to benefit charity, but Zuckerberg claimed over the weekend that he doesn’t believe Musk is serious about the fight.

“Mark is currently traveling and is not in Palo Alto,” Zuckerberg spokeswoman Iska Saric told Meta. told The edge “Plus, Mark takes this sport seriously and he’s not going to fight someone who shows up at his house.”

Earlier in the day, Musk announced that he would visit Zuckerberg at his home this evening to try to fight him. He also said that he would live stream the entire “adventure”.

X owners have been taunting Zuckerberg for 24 hours, calling him a “chicken” after the Meta CEO claimed he doesn’t think Musk is serious about the fight.

“I think we can all agree that Elon is not serious and it’s time to move on,” Zuckerberg wrote. “I offered an actual date. Dana White offered to make it a legitimate competition for charity. Elon won’t confirm a date, then says he needs surgery, and now asks to do a practice round in my backyard instead.

Musk’s biographer, Walter Isaacson, shared a screenshot of a conversation between the two men, in which Musk offered to have a real or practice fight in the meta mogul’s yard.

“Want to have match practice at your house next week?” Musk said in a text.

Zuckerberg replied, “If you still want to do a real MMA fight, you should train yourself and let me know when you’re ready to compete.” I don’t want to hype up something that will never happen, so you either decide you’re going to do it, and do it soon, or we must move on.

Musk replied, “I’ll be in Palo Alto on Monday.” “Let’s fight in your octagon.”

Musk said he didn’t do much training, but had a brief spat with podcast host Lex Friedman.

Musk continued, “Although I think it’s very unlikely, given our size difference, maybe you’re a modern-day Bruce Lee and will win somehow.”

Musk later tweeted that he would “knock on their door tomorrow and demand a fight.”

Musk continued to claim on Monday that he would visit Zuckerberg’s home.
